2021 seems to be a repeat of 2020 with this ongoing spread of new COVID variants, on-and-off lockdowns, and lots of head-scratching safety protocols. But despite the madness, many people are adamant to profess their love for one another in the manner of a marriage proposal - the more evident ones would be the celebrity engagements we see online as the mutual promises make headlines and/or become "Instagram" official. A couple of these personalities are actually athletes. I'm here to list down the more recent ones.
Mitch Trubisky & Hillary Gallagher
A little over a month ago, Chicago Bears QB Mitch Trubisky wins big in love when he proposed to his girlfriend, and "Soulmate" Hillary Gallagher. According to People, the athlete made his move while they were staying at The Breakers in Palm Beach, a luxury resort in Florida. Like a classic, romantic proposal, Trubisky got down on one knee and held Gallagher's hand.

It was made public when Gallagher announced the exciting news on Instagram with a couple of photos and videos from that moment, including the engagement ring.
Aaron Rodger & Shailene Woodley
Another QB also earned one of his biggest achievements when TFIOS and Divergent star Shailene Woodley said yes to his proposal. I'm talking about Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers who was gushing and smiling after mentioning now-fiancée Woodley during his Instagram Live interview with Zenith Watches’ CEO Julien Tornare, US Magazine reported.

“I’m recently engaged, so been enjoying that part of my life”
Rodgers said, also adding that the engagement was the best thing that’s happened to him in the last year. He also mentioned fatherhood when asked about his future plans, saying that he's looking forward to becoming a parent as it is "a really fun challenge" and also something he’s “dreamt about.”
Adam Rippon & Jussi-Pekka Kajaala
Former figure skater Adam Rippon who is the first openly gay man to represent the USA in the 2018 Winter Olympics has announced his engagement to longtime boyfriend Jussi-Pekka Kajaala. They proposed to each other in Finland, Kajaala's home country, a few weeks ago, while on winter vacation. According to USA Today, The couple started dating in 2018 after meeting on Tinder, a popular dating app.

"We bought the rings together and picked them up at the same time. I really wanted us to have rings from Finland"
said Rippon during his interview with People Magazine.
Kevin Love & Kate Bock
Cleveland Cavaliers Power forward and five-time All-Star Kevin Love is now engaged to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model Kate Block just last January. Like Trubisky and Gallagher, their engagement was made known when they both announced it on Instagram with Love writing:
"'Souls tend to go back to who feels like home.' My Fiancé. The Joy of My Life."

Block, on the other hand, just celebrated her 33rd birthday the night before she was engaged to the basketball player. Just like Love, she also shared the news on IG with a close-up of her diamond engagement ring.
