Las Vegas Raiders receiver Davante Adams has been charged with misdemeanor assault after an alleged incident involving a photographer occurred in his team’s 30-29 loss on Monday Night Football versus the Kansas City Chiefs.

Police in Kansas City claim that the five-time Pro Bowler pushed Ryan Zebley, a freelancer with ESPN to the ground at the end of the game at Arrowhead calling it an “intentional overt act”.

They say that the incident gave Zebley whiplash, a headache and possibly a minor concussion.

Adams apologized in his postgame comments on Twitter.

“He jumped in front of me coming off the field. I kind of pushed him. He ended up on the ground,”

Adams said after the game.

“I want to apologize to him for that. That was just frustration mixed with him really just running in front of me.

“I shouldn’t have responded that way, but that’s the way I responded. I want to apologize to him for that.”

The league is looking into the incident as Adams faces a potential fine or suspension as a result.

Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels said on Tuesday that he supports Adams and will cooperate with any investigation.
