The longtime All-Pro could receive as much as $65 million in incentives as part of this deal as LA look to be the first team to win back-to-back championships since the New England Patriots in the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
It was reported that Wagner had visited with the reigning Super Bowl champs along with the Baltimore Ravens following his release from the Seattle Seahawks earlier in March.
His release was overshadowed by the fact that Seattle had traded quarterback Russell Wilson to the Broncos on that same day.
The 31-year-old has made the Pro Bowl eight times in his career, winning the Super Bowl in the 2013 season with the Seahawks, their only title in franchise history.
Last year, Wagner had a career season, rattling off 170 tackles with the six-time All-Pro linebacker putting together 10 straight 100-plus tackle seasons, leading the league in that department on two occasions.
Wagner joins one of the most intimidating defensive units in the NFL, boasting defensive lineman Aaron Donald, linebacker Leonard Floyd and cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
His signing was announced first by Wagner’s former teammate Richard Sherman.
Over his 10-year career, the Los Angeles native has made 1,383 tackles, 23.5 sacks, 11 interceptions and four defensive touchdowns.
His impressive numbers and achievements have many projecting him to make it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame when he decides to call it quits.
